GEEK FACE

It looks like the “geek” trend isn’t going anywhere any time soon. How long is a trend a trend anyway? Seriously, Kanye has been rocking this trend for quite some time. I thought it would fade away, but I guess I was wrong. It was all over the runway-for example, Michael Kors! Even Jay-Z is sporting this “trend”. What do you think of his new “Kanye inspired look”? Who would of thought looking like a geek was cool? I mean its called a “geek look” because there is a stereotype that people who wear glasses are usually “geeks”- which isn’t a compliment. I think this trend started when these big time eye glass companies started having high profile advertisements- with popular models and celebrities wearing their brand. Let’s face it, when we see celebrities rocking something a little outrageous we are more open to it (whatever that trend may be). And they also have a retro feel to them- and we all know anything retro is so in right now! I honestly like the trend as well- wearing them makes a bold statement and if you can actually pull it off you know you are fashionista !

Trend Alert: Luxury Nails

Back by popular demand, is the 80's fashion era which has brought one the hottest new trends with it- nail art! Designer nails are so hot right now. Seriously, you can be so creative with your nails- from the intricate hand painted designs, different polish effects, adhesives, rhinestones, and piercings you can do just about anything to your nails. Don’t get it twisted though, there is a thin line between being "flyy" and being “ghetto”, so be careful!

Who knew nail technician had so much passion for their craft...I mean seriously, when I go get my nails done I don’t think the technicians love their job or knew that’s what they would do as a career- I mean how much of a promotion can you get by doing nails? But to my surprise there are people out there that really have a passion for it and work hard at it to make it their money maker. One artist that I’m a big fan of is Tina Gold. She is so dope...she describes herself as the Rolls Royce of nail design...that’s hot, right? Lol. Her designs stand out and she seems to be the ring leader of this trend right now. Hollywood is jumping on this trend as well, remember Kid Sister and her smash hit, Pro Nails featuring Kanye? That song was hot! She’s a fan of nail art. The always fierce Rihanna wears phresh neon colors. Oh and Beyonce’s little sister, Solange- she has been rocking this trend lately too. So if you didn’t already know- you better jump on this trend and call a nail salon near you to make your appointment for your personalized nail art!
